8 Dog Safe Plants for a Stylish Home

Hello Darlings!

So, you’re bringing home a new puppy or want to bring home some houseplants to decorate. You know that some plants are poisonous for pups and when you have rambunctious pups like my little Meeko you have to make sure the plants that make your home gorgeous are safe for fido!

I did extensive research when deciding to bring plants into my new apartment, and in the end I chose 8 plants that are both beautiful and safe!

 

The Spider plant is a personal favorite of mine. I love the aesthetic of its leaves, and as it grows it sends out runners with ‘baby’ spider plants as well!

 

The Areca Palm is a fun addition to any room. It comes in a plethora of sizes from places like Home Depot- from tabletop to taller-than-you- so you can pick the size that works best for your space.

 

Baby Rubber Plants have beautifully colored leaves and gorgeous lines. Perfectly suited for pots, and easy to take care of they are great indoor plants.

 

I love the ‘interest’ that Horsetail Palms bring to your décor. With almost onion-like bulbs popping up out of the soil, the palm looks like a creature all its own. I also am a big fan of draping fronds (like the spider plant) as they mimic natural curves.

 

Aside from having fun five pointed leaves, the Money Tree is said to bring good luck and fortune into your household. A plant that gives off good vibes? Yes, please.

And onto the succulents:

Blue Echeveria reminds me of lava coming out of a volcano, which, if you’re a kid at heart like I am, is always fun. Make sure not to overwater your succulents like I do- they’ll rot!

 

Another type of Echeveria, this spikey variety looks like something out of the Jurassic Period. (I just decided this plant needs a dinosaur friend.)

Hens and Chickens (or Hens and Chicks) is a fun little tabletop succulent that will look gorgeous in a succulent planter garden. I especially like the spider web like coating!
