Yoga Must-Haves: Yoga Brights Towel

Hello Darlings!

When it comes to yoga props I am incredibly picky. From blocks and straps to mats and eye masks and everything in between, I want everything I tote with me to my practice to be both beautiful and functional. On top of that they need to be able to withstand the constant barrage of abuse brought on by classrooms of toddlers and infants, who aren’t exactly the most careful little buggers when it comes to things on the floor while I’m teaching, and the dirt, rocks, and snow of an outdoor practice. Essentially, when it comes down to it I need props that work with my yoga practice that, generally speaking, isn’t conventional. What can I say? I’m a wild child that hasn’t quite grown up.

I have been looking for a multi-functional yoga towel for ages. I’ve gone through all the big brands and didn’t fall in love any of them, so I gave up on the towel search, I figured that maybe a yoga towel was just not for me- I could deal with being pricked with pine needles and sinking into sand, it is the great outdoors isn’t it? Enter Yoga Brights- the (not so) little towel that could.

When Linda, the founder and owner of Yoga Brights, reached out I, admittedly, was a bit skeptical. “Another towel, joy.” But I popped over to her website and read her story and spotted the towels. They sparkled. No joke. I was won over. So she sent me a few and I decided to put them through the ringer. I let the kiddos stomp all over them, used them while I sweat, and packed one in my bag to go visit my sister, her hubby, and my new nephew in Hawaii. If these towels could hold up to yoga on the beach I knew they had to be great.

I was super pleased to find out that they did! Not only were Yoga Brights towels great for my regular, sweaty practice (they were incredibly non stick and super absorbent) they held up to baby drool and ocean water. I used my towel on the beach, to act as a bit of a barrier between my body and the sand, which adds to stability and keeps sand out of places where you don’t want it to go, and after the fact acts as a crazy absorbent and fast drying towel for my body. Plus, you can cram it in a beach bag and you’re ready to go.

While it would be lovely to be able to get to a beach daily (oh, Colorado, the only thing you need is the ocean and you’d be perfect) more often than not I’m using a towel at Red Rocks or in the woods. These towels are powerful while lightweight so you don’t have to worry about them taking up to much space or adding too much weight to your hiking pack.

Overall I love Yoga Brights. They’re now a staple in my car, my classroom, and in bags I pack. Make sure you pop over to check out the three towels available on Amazon!– they come in green, pink, and white with gold, glittery piping!
