Sustainable Pets Gift Guide
We all know that I am *that* pet mom! From homemade treats to bedtime snuggles, there is nothing I wouldn’t do for my two little land clouds! Tinkerbelle and Meeko are as spoiled as can be, but just because they tend to get everything they want and more doesn’t mean that I can put an emphasis on sustainability! As you’ve seen in my 10 Ways to Be More Sustainable with Dogs post there are so many ways to make your pets and the earth a priority, so with those tips in mind, I’ve curated a holiday gift guide that essentially doubles as a favorites list this holiday season!
1. BecoBowl
I’ve spoken about the necessity of non-reactive bowls to help maintain your pup’s pigmentation and this natural bamboo bowl fits that bill! Made from a blend of bamboo and rice husk, this BecoBowl is a great way to upgrade your pup’s dinner time.
2. PupRug
I have more dog beds than I do dogs, however, each of the beds I do have are well-made and durable! The fluffs have a rectangle orthopedic PupRug in my bedroom as well as their curved style down in the living room!
3. Double Dog Coupler
There is a reason that movies have so many ‘meet cute’ moments where multiple dogs get tangled around it other- it happens in real life! I have been using a Double Dog Coupler from MyDogsCool for years and swear by it. With lots of different colors to choose from, sturdy hardware, and a swivel to prevent tangling, you can make your life easier by using a stylish but rugged single leash to walk both of your pups.
4. Chom Chom Roller
Ridiculous name aside, the Chom Chom Roller is an amazing stocking stuffer. It makes hair removal easy and effortless, and is a great alternative for a lint roller for large spaces like beds and couches!
5&6. Dental Care
I know I can’t be the only one who always received a few hygiene products in my stocking! I received a selection of natural, minimal packaging products from Earth Hero for the pups and you bet they are going right into their stockings! This child’s size Humble Brush is the small version of the bamboo toothbrush I use, and this organic dental gel is the perfect way to keep those puppy kisses smelling fresh.
7. Spruce Up Pup
Speaking of smelling fresh- want a clean pup without the packaging? Earth Hero has a selection of package-free pup soaps! This particular shampoo bar smells like balsam fir- very holiday indeed.
8. Redecker Lint Brush
Looking for an eco-friendly hair removal solution for smaller spaces, like clothing? This gorgeous wooden brush with rubber bristles from Redecker is a great option!
9. Nose and Paw Balm
There are so many lovely natural healing salves for your pups! This particular one is the Nose and Paw Balm from my line, The Spiral Collective. Crusty noses and winter accidents heal up quickly!
10. Kong Dog Toys
Aside from being a wonderful company in regards to charity and the environment, Kong toys are incredibly durable and fun! Fill your up with a multitude of different treat options and watch your dog stay entertained!
11. BecoBone
All of the toys! My pups make absolutely no sense when it comes to the toys they like, and generally speaking they both don’t like the same ones! However, this BecoBone made from 100% natural rubber that Earth Hero sent over is a hit with both of them!
12. Everything I and Love and You!
ILY food and treats has been Tinkerbelle and Meeko’s (and my!) favorite dog food brand for years! Their favorite treats from ILY are the Ear Candy chews from free range cattle, the Good Golly Gullet chews, Nice Jerky Bites, and then my personal favorite for freshening breath the Fresh All Rover bones! And then for an extra special holiday treat, I love giving the girls canned food to match our holiday feasts as well!
I’d love to know what you’d put on this list! Do you tend to gravitate towards more ‘practical’ gifts like food, leashes, and bowls or ‘spoiled’ gifts like treats and toys? Let me know over on the pups’ Instagram!
