Mindful New Year’s Resolutions with adidas
As I flip through my calendar, it blows my mind that 2019 is just weeks away! 2018 was a year of a huge changes and transitions for me- and because of that it feels like it took forever and flew past at the same time. Upending your life can do that to a gal! I’ve been taking time this year to really nail down who I am and what I want to be, and mindfully editing my life, my possessions, and my relationships into a space that is both manageable and aspirational. I keep telling myself and writing it down everywhere I can that ‘2019 is your year.’ In order to make that a reality, I’ve started to focus on the future and physically write down my goals, my ‘resolutions’ per say, for 2019. Sometimes in the past I’ve fallen into the trap of incredibly unrealistic (for me!) resolutions that I get burned out by and quit within the first month of the new year.
So this year I am taking a different approach. Gone are the very specific goals i.e. ‘I will run five miles a day five days a week’ and in their place come goals that are more broad without a measurable end goal i.e. ‘I will listen to my body to determine what type of activity feels best.’ I am incredibly competitive by nature, both with myself and with others on a playing field, so taking away the measurable ‘win or lose, thrive or fail’ aspect of resolutions will allow me to listen to what I want and need more instead of falling back into my ‘I have to win’ mentality.
That being said, much like a dog with treats, I am super motivated by ‘treats’ of my own! When I notice myself staying on a healthier, happier path I like to reward myself with bits and bobs that I’ve been loving! One of my favorite rewards I’ve gifted myself (yay me racing a 5k!) were these Stella McCartney x adidas Yoga Warpknit Tights and each time I wear them I’m reminded that I accomplished something I was working for!
Now, for my actual goals:
1. Listen to my body and determine fitness activity based on how I feel.
2. Foster relationships with my favorite people by making more time to spend with them!
3. Continue to grow my business by creating a schedule and a plan to allow myself to thrive without feeling overworked and stressful. Work-life balance!
4. Keep minimalism in mind when making new purchases- focus on quality versus instant gratification.
5. Make a concerted effort to complete projects before moving on to the next one.
As I move throughout 2019 I am sure that these goals will evolve and change as I do- but they are a great starting place to continue to craft my life into an existence that allows me to be the best version of myself that I can be! Focusing on mindful change, health, wellness, and relationships allows me to grow and feel and be a good human. (And a hopefully a good human with a wonderful new Wanderflex Halter Bra– hello new reward inspo!
I would love to know- what are your goals and resolutions for 2019? Writing them down sends your intention into the world- good luck!

Good thoughts there on new year resolutions. Most people make such resolutions based on the need to get attention rather what really suits them. I intend to read more intellectual books to discover deeper secrets of life.
