Craft Cocktails in a Hiking pack? Yes, Please! Meet Vrai: Organic Canned Vodka Cocktails #Sponsored
When it comes to hiking in Colorado, there’s nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment when you make it to the mountain’s summit, crack open a cold one, and get to sit down, pet your pups, and look out over this state’s naturally beautiful landscape. However, generally speaking, when someone refers to a ‘cold one’ its usually a not-so-great beer that is awkwardly fizzy because you just climbed a mountain with it in your pack. Great sentiment, poor execution.
Enter Vrai. You know I appreciate a great craft cocktail (we are smack dab in the middle of my Summer Cocktail series if that gives any indication!) and when that cocktail happens to be a 5.5% alcohol/volume tea-infused organic vodka one? Sounds amazing. Add that to the fact that its completely portable because it is canned? You’ve got the perfect celebratory beverage to cheers with on your favorite mountain peak!
Now, let’s break that down a little further- I know I just shouted a bunch of wonderful sounding words at you without explaining any of them! Just like my eating and drinking habits in every day life, I am quite discerning about the cocktails I consume as well. So when it comes to a pre-made cocktail, mixer, or the like I need to be able to see the ingredient list and make sure that it isn’t full of fake sugar and colorings; cocktails can be lots of fun but also full of junk! Vrai canned cocktails come in three flavors- I’ve tried the Green Tea and the Tangerine- the Paloma is next on my list! So far, while I love Tangerine, the Green Tea has my heart. And with only six ingredients, two of which are water and CO2, its got my belly too! All of Vrai’s cocktails are certified organic, made with organic vodka and organic cane sugar and without the not so lovely things like high fructose corn syrup and added coloring, plus they are gluten free to boot!
So, when I was looking for a drink that was easy to chuck into my cooler bag in my hiking pack with the rest of my zero waste mountain top picnic goodies, I reached for a couple of cans of Vrai to crack at the summit. When it comes to picnicking mountain-style, I know it is easier to carry things that aren’t quite as heavy, but I love the no-waste aspect of pre-made mason jar salads, snacks, and recyclable cans (the Vrai cans literally say ‘recycle pretty please’ on the can!) so I packed all of my jars, my cloth napkins, metal cutlery, and a couple of cocktails to go share on the top of Herman Gulch on the shore of a beautiful mountain lake.
So long shaken up beer- you’ve been upgraded and replaced with very tasty, smartly crafted Vrai Canned Cocktails!
