There are so many reasons why I love living in Denver- not only do you have the beauty of the mountains on the horizon and the ability to hike within 30 minutes of wherever you are, you also are surrounded by some of the most fun, health conscious people and businesses that you can imagine. So, when it came to planning one of my dear friend, Lena’s, bachelorette party I had an incredible selection of local Colorado companies at my fingertips and I took full advantage.
Now, keeping it local was something I knew Lena would love- while we met over 15 years ago during our freshman year of high school (in detention none-the-less!) in New Jersey, both of us have adopted Colorado as our forever-home. Lena met her now-husband, Mo, in Colorado and in true Colorado fashion they got engaged on the top of a fourteener. Now, for those of you not familiar- they literally got engaged after hiking the a mountain peek that is fourteen thousand feet about sea level! Both Lena and I love supporting our local Colorado companies, especially those who focus on sustainability and wellness! So, without further ado- here’s a bit of a showcase of my favorite companies who were so lovely to send me goodies to share with Lena’s girl ‘squad’ for her Breckenridge bachelorette!
Aside from the decorations, one of my favorite bits of getting ready for the party was putting together the goodie boxes for all of the ladies who were going to attend. Because we were staying in Breckenridge up in the mountains the biggest gift was a customized bobble hat that I had made from this cute little store I discovered on Etsy. With a white hat personalized with ‘Bride’ on the leather tag, and a grey hat with ‘Squad’ on the label, we had something matching without being SO over the top! Plus, these are the most comfortable hats I’ve ever worn- I have definitely worn it since!
I also popped a few different bits and bobs that would be necessary and helpful for a bit of overindulgence up in the mountains- hair ties, ‘Squad’ sunglasses, plus a couple items from Justin’s (a Boulder-based company!) their Chocolate Hazelnut Butter and Pretzels snacks, and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, as well as the Energy Supplement from Good Day Chocolate (another Boulder-based company!) that was perfect for the I had a few too many glasses of wine next morning blues!
Now, speaking of mornings, I would be remiss to not include a selection of Colorado’s best breakfast foods! Not only did we have a fridge chock full of a selection of GoodBelly probiotics products- their Watermelon-Lime Probiotics drink that has 20 BILLION cultures per serving is completely amazing and their Lemon-Ginger SuperShots calmed down my queasy belly almost immediately- and 8th Wonder Tea‘s Superfood Tea in Ashwaganda Apple Chai (SO tasty!) and Ginseng Passion Green Tea, but I also stocked up on pantry staples.
The eight ladies staying in our Air B&B demolished a whole bag of Birch Bender‘s Pumpkin Spice Paleo pancake mix, a huge selection of Canyon Bakehouse‘s bagels, (side note: Canyon Bakehouse is completely gluten free and you literally can not tell the difference between these GF bagels and the real deal! In LOVE!) and my favorite Aussie-culture yogurt made right here in Colorado, Noosa Yoghurt with fresh berries. However, the Strawberry Rhubarb yogurt definitely didn’t need any ad-ins- it is phenomenal all on its own!
After breakfast we headed a bit further into the mountains to go snowshoe Mayflower Gulch, a beautiful hikes a few miles long that ends up in a basin with gorgeous views and bright sunshine. We were all wearing our hats and new sunnies of course!
After heading back down the mountain I set up a huge spread of local Colorado veggies, meats, and cheeses provided by my favorite supermarket- Sprouts Farmer’s Market, paired with a selection of Hope Hummus. While everything was amazing, the Black Garlic hummus was the afternoon’s winner- so perfect paired with veggies!
Last but not least was dinner, a DIY pizza bar topped with leftovers from the charcuterie spread and a huge selection of wines from Bonacquisti Wines here in Denver! I’ve met Paul Bonacquisti on multiple occasions and he is a super sweet man with a passion for wine and it shows- his wines are incredible! I’m a bit partial to the Vinny No Neck Sangiovese (love the name too!) but I have never had a sip of his wine that I haven’t enjoyed! Plus, with an urban winery just 20 minutes from my house you can’t go wrong!
So, from start to finish I flooded Lena’s bachelorette with all of the bounty that colorado has to offer! I am so lucky to live in a city (and a state) that has so many great local brands to choose from, and brands that aren’t only enjoyed locally but all over the country! What are your favorite local brands where you live? Let me know in the comments down below!

What a fantastic idea! All of the food seems quite healthy, and even better because it’s local. And the showshoe hike is perfect for outdoors-oriented Colorado, but a fantastic idea for anyone who might want to travel to have some healthy fun. Way better than Vegas! PS: the photos are beautiful.
