Rosemary-Grapefruit White Wine Spritzer
When it comes to summer cocktails I want them to be fresh, easy, and refreshing- preferably with ingredients I already have on hand. This Rosemary-Grapefruit White Wine Spritzer checks off all of those boxes. To make these drinks all I had to do was pluck a couple springs of rosemary from my (indoor) shrub, pull out one of my go-to breakfast grapefruits, and pop open my often-overflowing fridge for some wine! (Full disclosure- this particular bottle was gifted to me at a tasting event, but this isn’t a sponsored post! It was just REALLY tasty.)
These little bubbly beauties are perfect to whip up for an afternoon sunning on the back porch with some fun nibbles and your favorite gaggle of friends- sunshine, fruit, and white wine just screams ‘summer’ to me!
Rosemary-Grapefruit White Wine Spritzer Ingredients:
(Makes two, but is easy to make in bulk!)
For the Cocktail:
4 Ounces Freshly Squeezed Grapefruit Juice
4 Ounces White Wine (I used Paso del Sol Chardonnay)
4 Ounces Tonic Water
2 Teaspoons Rosemary Simple Syrup (or to taste)
For the Simple Syrup:
1 Part Sugar
1 Part Water
Rosemary Sprigs
Instructions:
- Start off by making the rosemary simple syrup. I make mine in bulk because I use it for lots of cocktails (like my rosemary-honey lemonade) but all you need is one part sugar (I use one cup) to one part water and a sprig of rosemary. Add all three ingredients to a saucepan on medium-low heat, let come to a simmer, reduce the heat, stir until all of the sugar is dissolved, and let cool.
- Once the simple syrup is cool, add two ounces grapefruit juice, two ounces wine, two ounces of tonic water, and about a teaspoon (or more to taste!) of rosemary simple syrup into each glass and give it a gentle stir. If you don’t like the texture of grapefruit pulp, you can strain it out as your pour.
- Pop in a sprig of rosemary and a chunk of grapefruit for garnish, and serve chilled!
These Rosemary-Grapefruit White Wine Spritzer cocktails are so very easy to create in bulk- with the main ingredients being even parts and the ability to make simple syrup in bulk you can whip up a large batch in just minutes! Also, if you’re sick of getting grapefruit juice all over your hands, I would highly recommend a grapefruit juicer– my citrus press is too small for them and it makes a world of difference!
