Going Natural: Health Store Natural Beauty
The idea of transitioning to a more natural lifestyle from healthy food to natural beauty can seem daunting for a lot of people. Oftentimes we think that we need to make a huge change all at once, and that can be overwhelming. Caught up in research about which products we need to switch, where we can find them, if they will work for us, and the financial cost of a huge paradigm shift is a lot to process. But the thing is lifestyle changes don’t need to be all-or-nothing and all at once. Changing the way you think about products you buy and use is an ongoing process- something that I’ve been going through my whole life! And the best thing is, that if you’re actually toying with the idea of change you’ve already started your journey.
Recently I was invited by Sprouts to their ‘Cocktails and Contouring’ event (I documented it on my Instagram story- make sure you pop over to follow me if you want to follow my hippie self in real time!) and was introduced to a natural makeup line that Sprouts carries called Mineral Fusion. Mineral Fusion has a wide array of products, many of which are vegan, and are all non-comedogenic and hypo-allergenic. From eye-shadows to bronzer and mascara to makeup remover they have something for everyone in a range of skin tones. Needless to say, this hippie chick with incredibly sensitive skin was excited for a line of makeup that was both beautiful and wouldn’t set my skin off into a fury like many, many non-natural brands of makeup do!

One of the big takeaways from this event is that natural makeup isn’t unaccessible. You can pop into Sprouts, grab your produce and bulk goods and then walk over to the makeup aisle and grab everything your natural-loving self desires. No trips to the mall, no intensive internet research to see where you can buy a brand and if your concealer shade will match, just a 30 second walk into the beauty aisle. Natural beauty hurdle? Not so much a hurdle any more! And not only does this beauty section stock makeup but they also carry my favorite brand of makeup brushes- EcoTools. These beautiful brushes are super soft and are made from natural fiber and bamboo handles! Yes, please!

Not quite ready to transition to natural makeup? Maybe that mascara is still super full- that’s completely okay! Transition on your own time as your products run out switch to a more natural product to replace it. Sprouts also carries a huge assortment of natural body products as well- one aisle over from their makeup! I love using sustainable bamboo and organic fibers on my body, and no more sunscreen manmade chemicals for me!

Natural beauty isn’t just about your skin either! Oral hygiene plays an important role in your overall health as well! I am a sucker for Toms brand anything, and the Tom’s is right next to a plethora of other oral care goodies including this Spry bamboo toothbrush that I have fallen in love with! So as you can see just by venturing over to a different section of your favorite grocery store (::cough:: Sprouts ::cough::) you can slowly re-build your beauty regime by popping products into your weekly food shop! Natural ingredients, reasonable prices, and easily accessible- your natural beauty journey doesn’t have to be a difficult one!
