Local Product Spotlight: Fiona’s Natural Foods
One of the most exciting things about living in Colorado right now is that we are in what feels like the epicenter of the natural foods movement. Boulder, Longmont, and Denver are fostering a community of creative makers that work together, lift each other up, and create amazing, healthy food that betters the lives of those that consume them. Being part of the healthy living space, both as a yoga instructor and as a healthy living blogger, puts me in a really fun position to discover products and people as they build their brands. From kombucha, to chocolate, to granola and even to beer there is something being created for everyone here in Colorado.
Recently I was invited by Sprouts Farmer’s Market to tour the headquarters and processing facilities of a growing local brand, Fiona’s Natural Foods. And while I had never tried Fiona’s before I was intrigued- I popped over to their website and wanted to eat absolutely everything. So up to their facilities right outside Boulder I went with a gaggle of my other foodie-loving blogger friends.
The building itself was amazing- not only did it house Fiona’s, but the owner of Fiona’s has created a fully gluten-free space that houses other up and coming natural food lines (like Bhakti Chai- YUM) essentially creating community within the larger healthy foods market. As we toured we were able to see the ingredient sources, how the products were created, and how they were packaged- overall an incredibly interesting behind the scenes glimpse into the natural foods world.
However, I know that while the creation process is incredibly cool, you want to know about the food! Fiona’s Natural Foods is a line of bagged deliciousness that are based in three groups: granola, trail mix, and oatmeal. I have loved literally every variety I’ve tried! The basics of all of these different mixes are super natural- no GMOs, simple, easy to read ingredients, vegan and gluten free.
And while it’s hard to choose favorites, I’ve picked one from each of the groups. For granola I love the Almond Millet. At first, even though I’ve tried pretty much every grain under the sun, the fact that millet was a main ingredient made me laugh and think of the pinecone bird feeders I made as a kiddo, but oh boy is it delicious! For oatmeal, the Cherry Pecan is incredible. It is sweet enough not to need any additional sugar (I’ve been known to sprinkle brown sugar over oatmeal) and super filling. And for trail mix, being a proud Colorado-implant (did I just call myself a Coloradan instead of an East Coast girl!?) you can’t go wrong with the Mountain Blend! I love the texture differences in the ingredients. I keep a mini-mason jar of this is my ridiculously large pocketbook to keep myself from getting hungry while teaching!
Overall, I am so glad that Sprouts introduced me to Fiona’s Natural Foods, supporting local companies is easy when their ENTIRE line is delicious! Do you have a local natural foods (or beverages!) business that you love to support? Let me know in the comments below- I love discovering new handmade deliciousness!

Hi, great read, thanks. What is the name of the processing plant?
