All Natural Birthday PUPcakes Recipe | Tinkerbelle Turns 5!

I am that dog mom. You know, the one that spoils her dogs as if they were (human) children, I may have even thrown a birthday party for my dogs. THAT dog mom. So, when Tinkerbelle turned five years old this week I couldn’t NOT make something special! The girls’ favorite treats are carrots and peanut butter, so I mixed together and created some pupcakes for the girls, peanut butter-yogurt frosting and all!

Pupcakes recipe

This recipe is super simple and full of ingredients that are both good for your pups and tasty! Plus, you’ll already have everything you need in your pantry!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Heaping Cup of Carrots, Shredded
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 Cup plus 3 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Coconut Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 Tablespoons No Sugar Added Yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey (Omit for puppies)
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

Instructions:

1- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2- In a small bowl combine flour and baking soda. Set aside.

3- In a large bowl combine 1/2 cup peanut butter, coconut oil, eggs, and honey. Whisk together until smooth.

4- Slowly incorporate flour mixture, about a quarter cup at a time. Combine until the dough can easily come together in a bowl.

5- Add shredded carrots to dough. Mix well.

6- Use cupcake liners or oil to coat a muffin tin.

7- Fill muffin cups (or mini muffin cups for small dogs) with a heap of dough (I filled about half way.) These pupcakes don’t rise very much so keep that in mind when deciding on a fill level.

8- Pop the tin into preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until pupcakes are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

9- Meanwhile, combine yogurt and remaining peanut butter with a whisk to create frosting.

10- After the pupcakes come out of the oven allow them to cool completely before frosting.

11- Top with your favorite dog treats and enjoy! These will last 2-3 days in the fridge!

    1. My ‘recipe’ is just peanuts ground into butter! You just use a blender or food processor and blend until the peanut’s own oil makes it smooth. Thanks so much for being a fan!
