It is back to school season, and as the crisp autumn air starts to cool down our evenings, kids are filling up their backpacks with school supplies getting ready for the academic year to come. And I, for one, am incredibly jealous! I have always loved school from the first day I walked in, to the day I walked across the stage graduating from Boston College with a degree written entirely in Latin in my hand. I’ve been out of school for years now, but I always have loved popping into the back to school sales at office supply stores around town, picking up boxes of $0.50 crayons, pencils that have yet to be sharpened, and a plethora of folders and notebooks to donate to kiddos in need.
However, this year I have decided to step up my philanthropy efforts! I have partnered up with Custom Ink to support a local Denver non-profit, Girls Athletic Leadership Schools (GALS), whose focus is to empower girls to reach their full potential, challenging them intellectually, physically, and creatively!
Why partner with Custom Ink? With Custom Ink Fundraising, it’s easy to raise funds and awareness through the sales of custom t-shirts — there’s no inventory, hassles, or risk. Founded in August 2013, Custom Ink Fundraising has helped people raise over 50 million dollars for many worthy causes- and for me this is Denver-based GALS! I love that GALS is working to support leadership in young girls, I was lucky enough to be raised in a family that supported everything that I wanted to do both emotionally and physically, so supporting and organization that brings this same awareness to young girls who might not other wise have the ability to craft the life they want to live is near and dear to my heart.
So, how can you help? Head over to my fundraiser page and choose one of the GALS designs! Custom Ink will print and ship your shirt directly to you once our campaign ends- and all the funds raised will go directly to GALS, supporting our next generation of empowered female leaders! I’m looking forward to you rocking your ‘Like a Girl’ gear this school year!
