My 6 Favorite Crystal Reference Books

I am a book person. Always have been, always will be. Don’t get me wrong, I love the internet and 100% think that Google makes the world go round; but there is something about the feel of a book and the way that information feels so tangible that makes the very act of looking something up feel like you’re discovering it in such a physical sense. So while so much of my life is online, I will always have a library of reference books that spans from the dictionary to what we are talking about today, my favorite crystal reference books.

Right now crystals for healing (or for aesthetics!) are a super popular trend; and while some of us have been using them for years I know that there are lots of people, including many of you who have reached out on Instagram, that are very new to the sparkly little bits of magic. So, before we dive into books if you’re a newbie check out my Beginner’s Guide to Healing Crystals post.

The Crystal Reference Books

The Crystal Bible

The Crystal Bible is 100% the first book you should pick up. First, the author, Judy Hall, is an absolute gem (pun intended) and has a way of making healing crystals both accessible and mystical at the same time- she’s the author of three out of my six favorite crystal reference books! The Crystal Bible is your go-to quick reference guide for the vast majority of crystals you’ll come across and it has a quick and dirty explanation of benefits, characteristics, with color photos.

Earth Blessings

Another Judy Hall title, Earth Blessings dives a bit deeper into the actual use of crystals. The chapters are titled things like ‘Personal Energy Care’ and ‘Environmental’ healing and they start with the basics like using a crystal as a pendulum and then get a bit more involved explaining crystal grids and layouts.

Crystals for Energy Healing

Ashley Leavy is another author who focuses on making crystals and their energies accessible and fun. Crystals for Energy Healing consists of a few different parts. First there is the introduction crystals and their uses, we move into cleansing, grids, and healing and then into a photo sourcebook of crystals with their uses outlined!

Crystals for Positive Manifestation

This Sarah Bartlett title is very similar to the energy healing title just above (they’re published by the same company!) but Crystals for Positive Manifestation instead of focusing on energy healing, you guessed it!, focuses on manifestation. Once again we get an into to manifestation, crystals and their uses, and then a photo sourcebook and explanation of 100 different stones.

The Ultimate Guide to Crystals and Stones

Uma Sibley’s Ultimate Guide is a great start to finish explanations of crystals, stones, how their energy works, why they are useful, and practical ways to use them. It is very dense, informative reading but it is punctuated with helpful diagrams and charts.

The Crystal Seer

This last title by Judy Hall, The Crystal Seer, is such a beautiful book. Not only is it bound in a cover that feels good to the touch, the photography is stunning. This is another crystal reference book that is a bit redundant if you have a few of the titles above, but it is one of those books that you want to display- coffee table book style! I love using this book if I’m feeling a bit etherial!

Bonus!

The Crystal Wisdom Healing Oracle

Judy Hall is at it again with this gorgeous set of 50 tarot-style cards! The Crystal Wisdom Healing Oracle comes with 50 oracle healing cards and a mini book that explains how to use the deck and what each card with its corresponding crystal means.

Which books would you add to this list? Let me know in the comments below- or pop over and say hi on my Instagram feed!

They sure are “sparkly little bits of magic”. Beautiful to look at, great to the touch, wonderful to use.
